SPECIFICATION ILD122 INDUCTION LOOP DRIVER The ILD122 Induction Loop Driver has been designed for a wide range of applications such as small churches, small conference rooms, meeting rooms, etc. The equipment maintains the traditional Ampetronic high quality vocal and music reproduction, while adding new features to improve performance and operational facilities. The ILD122 has extensive monitoring and indication facilities. In addition to the LED metering of compression and loop current, the amplifier includes a loop checking feature that tests the loop for high or low resistance at power-up and indicates any fault. Overload and over-temperature conditions are also monitored and indicated on the front panel. In common with all Ampetronic's induction loop drivers, the ILD122 uses constant-current drive, which is necessary to achieve full compliance with national and international loop system standards. The equipment has safeguards designed in to ensure that all current EMC and safety standards are complied with under all practical operating conditions. An
integral metal loss corrector provides compensation for the frequency
dependant loss caused by metal in building construction. The picture below is the rear panel of the ILD122 which shows the connections.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION Line Input: 6.4mm Jack socket, fully balanced (unbalanced with mono plug).
Slave
I/O: Insert point for connecting Ampetronic Phase Shifter, etc.
Preamp Power: ±15V DC regulated output, up to 0.3A for powering Ampetronic Microphone Preamplifiers and external processors. Metal Loss Corrector: This control permits correction of the system frequency response when losses occur due to metal in the building. Loss adjustment is adjustable from 0 to 3 dB per octave, using 1KHz as constant gain frequency. This does not compensate for the power loss caused by the metal. Compressor / AGC Control: 30 dB control range. Front panel indication in 6 dB increments. Efficiency: <0.25 dB output change for 25 dB input change. Attack and Decay time constants optimised for speech. Loop Current: 9.6A Peak signal current. Metering via front panel LED's in 3 dB increments. Output Voltage: Greater than 36V peak, to enable good frequency response with larger inductive loops. Patented circuitry prevents clipping, to ensure EMC compliance. Loop Impedance: Designed for SINGLE-TURN loops, with DC resistance between 0.4O and 2O. Area Coverage: The nominal area that can be covered for a rectangular loop is 500m² (5382 ft²). Where the aspect ratio is narrow and long, see handbook. If losses occur due to metal or unusual loop position, then the area will be reduced. Please contact us for advice. Frequency Response: 80Hz to 6.5 KHz ± 1.5dB at low level, measured as loop current. High frequency high signal level response is a function of loop size, loop current and signal content to ensure that no RFI generation takes place. Internal time constants are very short. AC Power Input: 230V AC nominal, 45-65 Hz.
Cooling: Vertical airflow is required through a heatsink on the back panel; leave space above and below the unit. Dimensions : L 432mm, D 220mm, H 88 mm (2U).
CE Compliance: The equipment meets all the applicable EMC and safety standards. Options: Rack mounts in 2U space using RM9 brackets. LOOP CONDITION MONITORING: The ILD9 is now available with a factory fitted Loop Condition Monitoring option. This offers monitoring of both loop integrity and the equipment internal condition, allowing the equipment to be used with voice alarm systems. The status is signalled on a simple isolated contact for easy interface to a wide variety of monitoring systems. Loop Cable: Selecting the right size loop cable depends on the size of the loop to be laid. |
